Hello-

Brand new to trouble free pool. I'm closing for the first time a round 27' foot radiant pool(19,000 gallons). I've talk to other pool owners and they do not put a cover on the pool. We don't have a lot of trees in the area, but I'm wondering if a cover is necessary.

Also, we plan to take inside our pump and cartridge filter system. Also, we need to drain the pool down from the skimmer.

Do we need to add chemicals before closing down pool? I live in Wisconsin.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Thank you.
Jeanne

Raise your chlorine levels to slam (40% of your cya) four to five days before. Make sure the pool is clear of all organic material. Add poly quat 60 and let it mix well. Drain water to just below the skimmer, remove all hoses. Covering an above ground pool if you’re in a snowy area has been known to assist in the cover pulling the walls inward from the pull down affect of the snow.
