Closing questions

The closing article on this site says to use plugs for the returns/skimmer if you would like, owner's preference. What do you all do? I'm in PA, and winters do get very cold.

Also, I have never used an air pillow before. What is the benefit to using one?

I use plugs in my returns and a gizmo in the skimmer. I have an IG with a cover that drains so i will fill back up and need to keep the water out of the pipes.

Im assuming you have and ABG with the air pillow question. If so the plugging is optional if you use a tarp or solid cover. No more water will get in after you drain below the openings. The air pillow keeps your cover up like a tent so water drains off the cover and you dont have to pump it out. They work great until they dont. Most pop sometime over the winter in the cold climates.

I use two round floats. See below. Air pillow never lasted thru the winter.

If you buy floats, Buy snow tubes instead. There are much thicker and designed to pop less often with a kid riding them down a hill. Floating in a pool makes them almost indestructible.

Plugs and gizmos. Be careful of covers on AG pools, if in the snow belt they are known to load up with snow and pull the walls inward ?
