Acton, ontario, Canada
I have 12k gal AGP that I inherited after previous owners.
Getting tired of running with liquid chlorine, and the cost of chlorine is not as cheap in Canada.
I changed sand filter to new one, changed to Pentair Veriable speed pump, now I want to add SWG.

Not sure if it's a good pick, but price seems good at around $1100usd, I would have to spend double for Hayward rated for roughly same output here in Canada.
Would this be a good pick, would you reccomend something else ?
I'm plumbed with flexible hose on all lines, no rigid pipe at all.

This is a good SWG and you'll want to get one that can handle double the size of your pool so an RJ30 will work fine. If you want the RJ45 there might still be a deal on Discount Salt Pool to upgrade for maybe $10. A larger cell will not work as hard and will last longer. You will, however, need to hard pipe it in so you'll need to figure that out.

A lot here run the Circupool generators (me included). $1100 is about the going rate for the 30+, and its sized nicely for your pool (about double your volume). You might want to consider the 45+ at DiscountSaltPool, $1200 gets you some serious overkill which essentially translates into longer life on the cell (you can run it much lower). The extra capacity also gives you more flexibility in runtime/power settings.

No idea if they ship to Canada tho

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but for once I'll reccomend the smaller RJ30 over the RJ45. You have short seasons and will probably see electronic failure before the plates on the larger cell are depleted.

Circupool tends to over inflate it's production #s but as they state it, the RJ30 would last you 15.6 years if you averaged 3ppm a day for 120 days. They could be off by 50% and it'd still last 10+ years.

Acton isn't much further north than me (0.6°) - I'd be more interested if you had a heater - if you are extending your season, the 45 might become more attractive purely on price.

Either way, SWG is the way to go, and I don't think you can go wrong with either the 30+ or the 45+

Great choice. I had one in S Florida for 3 years. We use year round and had almost no degradation after 3 years. Performance matched Pool Math so I felt really good and I bought same brand again. One thing to watch closely is pool chemistry. I stayed in TFP ranges and a little under 0 CSI.

I literally just purchased and installed this SWG yesterday. If the RJ30 is what you want then you choose the RJ20 and then choose the upgrade for $10 more for the RJ30 which gives you a better price because it’s based on the 20’s price. My pool is fiberglass and 13600 gallons so this was the best choice for me. So far this thing has been great! I had a pool tech I use occasionally install it for me; I’m not too good with pvc pipe plumbing, although I think I could handled the rest of it! I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this system started generating chlorine! My old Astral system would sometimes take forever to start generating Chlorine! Right now I have to get my salt level back under control, it’s a tad bit high due to the old unit telling me to add salt when I didn’t actually need it and my bad I didn’t test it with my test kit before adding it. Anyway I’d highly recommend this unit!
