Circulation Pump Time and Times

Just curious. How many hours do you run your circulation pump(s) in a day? And....what is your schedule? For example, I run my pump 8 hrs a day in four 2 hour segments. 6 am-8 am, noon to 2 pm,
6 pm to 8 pm and midnight to 2 am.

Mine is set from the factory to run for 1hr upon startup (after plugging it in or after power failure) & for 30 minutes every 12 hours thereafter. It also runs when the tub is heating (i only have 1 pump - a friction heater/pump) so in the winter this is somewhat frequent as to maintain my temperature set point. In the summer the ambient temp prevents it from coming on much which is nice for the energy bill since I have an energy hog pool pump to feed 😁
When I first got it I increased the frequency but I quit resetting it after purging a few years ago and I haven’t noticed any difference in anything as far as the water or the energy bill is concerned.
My tub also has freeze protection that operates automatically & independently of my settings so it just does what it does lol 😂
I don’t have uv or ozone so I am really not concerned with too much or too little circulation. For those things to be efficient how you use the tub should also be taken into consideration when adjusting circ pump time if they are indeed functioning.
