Choosing new vacuum...

So I want to get a new vacuum this year and I've narrowed it down to 2 choices (because these are what I can afford lol)

Amazon.com : Intex Auto Pool Cleaner : Swimming Pool Suction Cleaners : Gateway - Intex Auto Pool Cleaner
Amazon.com : Intex Handheld Rechargeable Vacuum with Telescoping Aluminum Shaft and Two Interchangeable Brush Heads, Gray/Black : Garden & Outdoor - Intex Rechargeable Handheld Vacuum

Have any of you had any experience with these vacuums? I have an 18' round Summer Waves Pool with a Intex 3,000 gallon sand filter.

With the auto cleaner do you just hook it up to the water jet return and let it do its thing and then unhook it?

Thanks!

I have the Intex auto cleaner you link to and just started using it. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't get 100% to the wall, it leaves a 6-8" path that it can't get. Other than that it seems to be working great. Yes you just hook it up to the return from the pump, I assume that the summer waves has the same wall fittings as the Intex does. If so there is an adapter you put on the return and good to go. Your pump is more than enough for the auto cleaner to work.

The rechargeable one looks like it might be a good option also but you would have to manually vacuum the pool.

I don’t know if this is the same type of thing you want but check out the aquabot S2-40i pool robot. It does not need to work with your pump or filter it has filter bags and it’s own propulsion system. I have had really good luck with it .
