Chlorine Tabs or the Lack Thereof...

In utter desperation, I came upon the TFP Methods of running our pool, midway through last summer. I am so, so glad I did!

I am to understand that I can forgo the use of Chlorine Tabs altogether if I keep the FC and CYA balanced?

Yes indeed, maybe just when you are out of home(not the foreseeable future). You will probably get tired of adding Liquid chlorine after a season or two. Then you can see about a SWG, which makes it easier. or a stenner type of adding LC.

Tabs can be convenient when on vacation, or if you need to slowly raise the CYA level and lower your pH. The key is knowing your water chemistry and anticipating the effects of all chemical additions in advance. Good on you for taking control of your pool water chemistry.
