Chlorine tab dispenser

So I've got one of those little floaty tab things to dispense the chlorine. We live in Az and with almost daily sun because of the UV rays they only last a year. I realize they are somewhat inexpensive but was wondering. Is there a UV spray paint that would give it a little more life? Or does the combo of pool chemicals And the sun doom it from the start?

The one I used had a duck on top and lasted several years - although I am in Texas and not AZ.
I guess the point is - maybe try a different style.

If you paint your PVC - you may want to try that same paint but I would be concerned about paint flaking off due pool water chemicals. IMO

Krylon Fusion for Plastic, bonds chemically.
For $10, I'd just replace it when needed.
