Chlorinator question

I took a sample of water to the local pool company and they said my salt was at 3100. How ever when I do a diagnostic on my system it only reads 1900. I turn of the chlorinator on but it won’t remain on. I’m assuming due to the “low salt” reading. Is there a sensor I need to replace or is the cell bad?
Thanks

The cell is about 7 years old. If you're sure about the salinity, I think that you need a new cell.

Go to Diagnostics again and press the + button to get the polarity to reverse. Wait for the salinity to stabilize then press the + button again and note the new salinity.

Check the cell and clean if necessary.

Pressing + reverses the polarity. The salinity in both polarities should be about the same. If it's way off, the cell is bad.

Divide the instant salinity by the actual salinity. If the result is less than 75%, the cell is bad.

You need to be really sure about the actual salinity. I recommend the K-1766 salt test kit.

If the cell is scaled, that can cause poor performance.

Check the cell and clean if necessary.

7 years is a good life for a cell. So, it's not unexpected.
