My pool is closed, all buttoned up and ready for winter. The thing is, I overbought on the muratic acid and bleach. Can the MA be stored in my unheated garage over the winter (northern Indiana) ? I can use the bleach up in the laundry over the winter months, but I have no use for MA in the household. The bottles are unopened, still in the box.

Thanks!

The MA can vent some and cause rusting, although in the cold weather this might be less of a problem.

I would keep it outside somewhere. Maybe under a deck or in a plastic storage box.

Keep MA outside for sure. The bottles are all vented in some way and acid vapors will settle in your garage leading to corrosion. There is no chance EVER of MA freezing (unless you live in Antartica) so it is perfectly safe and stable outdoors in the winter time.

What about the test kits? I have a K-2006 and I'm wondering if it's okay to store in an unheated garage.

Test kits should always be stored indoors and kept in a cool, dry place. Freezing temperatures and excessive heat will degrade the reagents faster.
