I bought my wife this item, to keep our house plants alive while gone for 3 months. Pump and integrated timer to water plants, with a WiFi app to control it.

And then I saw the old thread about using an aquarium pump with timer to inject chlorine into a skimmer....
Has anybody looked at that or similar? There are a bazillion variations on Amazon.
I just might sacrifice hers to see how well it stands up to Cl.
Thinking perhaps installing everything under a very nearby deck, and run the outfeed tube under the diving board, so it dumps into the middle of the deep end. Less concern about making sure the pump is running for mixing/dilution, etc.
Or is it just a really bad idea?
