Cheap booster pump?

Could you use an Intex filter pump (0.5 hp, 1000 gph) as a booster pump for a suction side or pressure side auto cleaner? Cut an inlet and return in the side of the AGP and attach the cleaner? Run the pump with no filter.

LOL!! I'm gonna say no, not enough pressure or flow. It would be easier and probably cheaper to get an aboveground robot. Like one of these
