had the hot tub filled up for about 2 months now and had it dialed it at the following:

pH: 7.6
TA: 50
FC: 1-2
CH: 120

I'm still using granulated chlorine (came with our pool chemicals) and dry muratic acid to maintain FC and pH levels. When I test every 2-3 days depending on usage, I'll just grab the K-1001 and test pH and FC levels to keep them in balance. I decided to do a full test with my K-2005 and the CH had risen to nearly 300. I hadn't noticed any scale in the water, though there was a slight hint of some buildup at the water line that was easily scrubbed off.

did some reading and it sounds like a high pH level could cause the uptick in CH and the best way to get the CH back in line (apart from draining like 60% of the tub and refilling) was to lower the pH and let the CH be absorbed back into the water naturally. am I on the right track? if so, should I just keep the pH a little lower (around 7.2) for a bit and see if the CH drops down over time?
