Century Pump - broken axle? Replacement suggestion please...

Hi all

Yesterday I'm doing salt cell maintenance and when I'm done I start up the pump as normal. Equipment is above pool level but there was still water in the system so the pump didn't have to work too hard to prime; water started flowing right away and filling up the basket (again, as normal).

But then there was a loud noise and water stopped flowing. Thought maybe the impeller broke off or something. Nope, the strongest piece of the mechanism decided to snap in half!

So, I've got the thing taken apart and I need to replace the pump motor - Century M48AA66D58 - apparently it's discontinued and the nearest I can find is Century (A.O. Smith) V-Green EVO 2.25 HP Up Rate VS Motor, Square Flange 48Y Frame, Variable Speed - Model EVQ225 - INYOPools.com

Has anyone had experience with this one? Is it a drop in replacement? Will it work with Aqualink RS control? Full VSP control?

Alternatively, can y'all suggest the best replacement pump? The impeller was not broken but had some scratches so I want to replace bushings / seals / o-rings etc as well.

Thanks

@1poolman1 might know. Not sure if he's around here on the weekend. In the meantime, if your FC is on the low side, be sure to add some liquid chlorine to the water during this pump downtime to try and avert an algae issue. Add chlorine and brush t around really, really well as best as you can.
