Central California, 1000's of these little black bugs are showing up in my pool every morning:

Our pool is about two years old. We did not have this issue last year. This year, almost every single morning, our perimeter tile is filled with these little tiny black bugs, they almost look like fleas, 1000's of them. My pump turns on and gets a lot of them through the skimmer, but I have to walk around and brush them off the tiles every single morning. They just keep coming back. Anyone know what they are and how to get rid of them? Also, my pool is surrounded by rocks/dirt and grass. Pictures attached:

Amazing how insects are attracted to our pools huh? Well, I'm no entomologist, so maybe someone else can help. You might try to get a closer picture though. Kind of hard to see. Hopefully this is nothing more than another seasonal migration thing and they'll be gone quickly. That or start charging admittance. :) :swim:

Circular clumping of bugs would suggest springtails. Although springtails like damp soil and you are in California so I would guess things are pretty dry. See if you can get a zoomed up picture of one.

Anyway, it would probably be worth doing a spray of Demand CS (or generic Cyzmic) plus Nygard IGR mixed together over the entire rock and grass area.
