I noticed a whining noise last night and thought it was my pump. After listening closer, it is coming from my cartridge filter (Hayward 4 cartidge). Water level in pool is fine, skimmers and pump basket cleaned out. Of course the noise goes up as I go up in RPMs on the pump. I will open the filter housing up after work and check. Any thoughts on causes of the whining noise?

it is a hayward thing.. the filter is making the noise... I do not have one but remember reading about it

Just wanted to follow up and I hate to say it. I took it apart, cleaned the 4 cartridges, re-seated everything, and noise gone.
