Can't track down leak

So I'm trying to track down a leak. After some calculations and fill and evaporation tests I am losing about 5 gallons an hour (about 120 gallons a day...not sure if it's constant or if better/worse when pump running. It's not at the pump housing or filter, I've used dye doesn't seem to be at the light housing in the pool or at the skimmers (at least not seeing dye flow down when off which I would think a 5 gal/hour leak would show).....but I'm pretty sure it's the suction side and probably at skimmer/line. Should a leak of that size be easy to find? Any tips other than using the dye to see if the skimmer/line has the leak?

A quick way to rule out your lines as the source is to plug all of them (including the main drain) and do the bucket test. I had a leak at the stair flange, so my pool kept dropping even with everything plugged.

Dye testing skimmers and returns can be tricky. You need to isolate each line by plugging the others and need to wait for the water to settle (water flows back down your lines into the pool after the pump is off). Even then, you might need to use a dye test cone (tiny hole at the end) to amplify the suction caused by a leak. Pressure testing is a more reliable way to confirm a leak.
