Hey all, I’ve got a Pentair recessed light in the pool/house we just bought. It had some water in it, but the socket wasn’t bad, no real corrosion. So I bought a new seal, and have tried repeatedly to get the tension ring to fully seal, and no matter what I do, thing never stops leaking. Can anyone assist? What am I missing? It’s not a large leak. Thanks!

Amerilite Pool Light Leaks. A Fix and what I've learned
One of the first things i noticed on my first pool at teh house I just moved into was that the shallow end pool light was not functioning I did a bit of research and ordered the new gasket and lamp. Installed it and everything went well for about 3 minutes when "Blooouup" a big ol bubble...

Replacing bulb, question
When I took the housing apart, the screw holding the front to the back was tightened all the way down. With the new gasket, I can screw it in about half way, and it gets REALLY hard to turn. Do I need to tighten all the way, or is having it tight good enough?

Make sure the sealing surfaces are clean. Also check that the sealing face is flat. Are you sure it's leaking through the gasket and not where the cord enters? I have only used Pentair gaskets, if you are using a gasket from someone else maybe it does not fit correctly.
