Can't get a handle on ph

FC at 2 but ph was at 7.1 so I added the recommended borax to reach 7.6 (I'd like to get borates higher anyway). Came back 4 hrs later and tested and now my ph is well above the 8.2 color on the k-1001 test. We did have a little rain in between then, but just a small summer shower. Could that have raised pH that much?
 
Your pH generally rises over time. Next time leave it alone at 7.1 and only knock it down when it gets 8 or above.

Do you have a full set of results from your TF100? Generally you want your FC to be above 2, but if you post a full set of results we can help you better.
