Can you use swg in above ground pools?

I have a above ground pool with a SWG. Something to be aware of is that some manufactures of pools make pools that "can handle salt" and "can't handle salt". I went to 2 dealers locally and the one I didn't buy from told me if I add a SWG that the warranty will be voided in the pools he sold. The difference that I know of with my pool vs the no salt one is my top rail, bottom rail and uprights are made from PVC/resin vs all steel or aluminum for these components. My wall is made from steel so no difference there.

I'm not saying you shouldn't use a SWG in any AG pool, there are more knowledgeable people on here that can answer that question. I am only repeating what I was told by a dealer. How much a pool warranty is worth? I don't know!

Lots of us on this forum have SWGs in above ground pools. From a practical standpoint, the corrosion risk is minimal and not really any different with our without an SWG since chlorine, regardless of original form, leaves salt behind. The level of salt that an SWG needs to operate is 1/10th of the ocean.

It could possibly effect the warranty, but those warranties tend to be pretty worthless as I recall. Like each year they cover less and less, and only parts (not labor) and you have to pay for shipping both the defective part and replacement part, and they will likely blame it on bad chemistry in any case.
