Can you glue a Hayward main drain cover instead of screwing it

Hi

my main frame cover has broken and I’ve been having trouble replacing it. I have a replacement that comes with a grate which is screwed in and then a cover which is screwed and as well onto the grate. I am not a very strong swimmer and wondering if I can glue /epoxy the grateimage.jpg and cover to the main drain???
 
I would not screw it that won't allow any future maintenance. These are a PITA to put on but stick with it even if you only get a turn or 2 before you have to go back up for air. I would pre-screw it on the surface a few times (then take it off) so the threads are cut and it should be much easier to do.
