Can vacuum robot aggravate liner wrinkles?

Hey all. I inherited a 23,000 litre in-ground pool in a new home I bought 4 months ago. Totally new to pool maintenance. Pool was perfect when I got into the house.

My chemistry balancing skills were off in the beginning which meant the PH of the pool was frequently at 6.5-6.8 or thereabouts at the beginning. I think that may have contributed to initial wrinkling off the pool's PVC liner. Despite bringing the PH back into balance, the wrinkles kept growing.:(:(:(

Old owner had left a Klever Kleena Rx-1 robot cleaner in the shed which I was using to vacuum the pool. Is it possible that the robot was aggravating the wrinkles while running? I couldn't see the robot getting stuck on the wrinkles but I imagine it would keep sucking in the loose bit of the liner therefore stretching it.

I have stopped vacuuming the pool now for fear of making the wrinkles worse. See pics.
