Can someone figure this out for me? The hot tub in our vacation rental had no use for 2 weeks ( place was empty) . When I got here today , the Frog chlorine cartridge was empty , yet the reading was very high- 10 ppm. Nothing had been added in 2 weeks- no shock.

The Frog @ease cartridges use a type of chlorine similar to what’s used in toilet bowl tank chlorine tabs. It registers as high CC but little to no FC. If the hot tub was left to recirculate, it simply dissolved all the chemical in the cartridge.

Well, I know it’s not dichlor and it’s released as needed, but generally , whenever the cartridge is empty, the chlorine is very low or 0- that’s what I have found in the past. Then it’s time to put in a new cartridge.
