Calcium hardness level is always the same -- why?

For at least the past year, I've noticed that my calcium hardness level never changes. It's always at 275. Over the summer I went through a 25lb bucket of cal hypo hoping to get my CH level up a little. But at the end it was the same - 275. I haven't tested my CH in the past few months, but today I tested and again it's at 275. Any thoughts as to what might be going on? I'm wondering if I have bad reagents.

Pretty common for me to gain CH from fill water and/or cal hypo in the dry months.

However once rain returns and you start sending pool water into overflow, that reverses.

Your filling that pool with new low CH water one way or another for one.Two 25lb buckets of cal hypo is a fart in the wind for a lot of pools on CH. Stay the course, your plaster or even the soil around your pool can pull out some CH from the water. Or your reagent is really really old.
