In the middle of a slam. I took the chlorine too high with the 12% chlorine so need to get the numbers down—hopefully the sun will do it today! My question is, the calcium hardness needs to be increased a bit too but not sure what source of chemical to use? Is it baking soda?

I am a newbie but...I am pretty sure they don't recommend doing much testing while slamming, particularly ph.
According to this chart: https://www.troublefreepool.com/content/134-recommended-levels
your ch is ok but on the lower end for plaster pools it looks like.

See this link for chemicals to use to make changes: https://www.troublefreepool.com/content/123-abc-of-pool-water-chemistry

good luck today! :)

Oh and I found out you cant read the cya by guessing were it is between the marked lines. I believe if it is over 30, use 40. It is not a linear progression.
