buying bleach that has been sitting outside but covered

My local home depot stores the bleach outside but it is in a covered section of the garden area. Will this diminish the strength of the chlorine or is it mostly the sun that does that and not the heat?

great thanks. I am going to talk to the manager today about moving it inside. Don't know if he/she will. I will most likely get some excuse about safety or whatnot. Who knows, maybe I will get lucky.

It will totally work in a pinch, you’ll just need roughly twice as much if its 6% now instead of 10%.

When your schedule allows, get better stuff elsewhere.

Try going to Atwoods, I have found they are the cheapest and , at least at my store, they keep it inside. 2.49 a gallon for fresh 10%.

At my work we buy 12.5% in 330 gallon totes, and our summers are 100+ degrees. This is just anecdotal, but in my experience if it gets stored outside in the sun it starts deteriorating pretty fast, but if we keep it under a shaded area (not indoors) it lasts a lot longer.

I've also purchased 10% from local Lowe's and Home Depots, both of which store it outside in the covered garden area, and have never had any problems with potency. Again this is in an area with really hot summers. Not sure about where you are, but here the big box stores package it in cardboard boxes that don't allow sunlight through, so that really shouldn't be an issue.
