Bubbles Appear When Turning Pump On

I hope all you TFPC had a great winter.

I have recently started to get bubbles when I turn on my pool pump each morning. I haven’t seen a drastic change in my water level, and my skimmer level is fine. Also, the pressure in my pump stays consistent and when I open the pressure valve there isn’t any air in the pump.

Since this started after I cleaned out the basket that is contained in the pool pump, I’m assuming the o-ring in the basket needs to be replaced.

So my question is, are the sizes for those o-rings standard or will I need to track down the particular o-ring for my pump? Also, when I put in the o-ring do I need to apply any sort of lube or anything else to o-ring?

thanks for any guidance.

Hi,
yes, you need to size the o-ring for your pump. They aren't all the same, but its an easy process using google.

You should use a silicone based lubricant to lube the seal with.

If you havent been using any, then that might be all you need to do. The O Ring might be just fine.
