Brown Worms

Is your pool up against grass or other foliage/soil? Did it rain recently? If yes, might just be a temporary problem and they will go away once it dries out.

Those are earthworms surfacing to escape the water logged soil. For reasons that are not clear to me, a high percentage of them fall into the pool and drown.

The phenomenon will stop once the soil drains enough to let them go underground.

Any idea what is attracting them to the pool, and what I can do to try and keep them away?

For reasons that are not clear to me, a high percentage of them fall into the pool and drown.
Worms will seek higher ground with a lot of rain. Pools tend to have decks that slope away from the pool...as a result, the pool is "higher ground."

We have dozens of threads a year on worms. Nothing you can really do. They will retreat as it dries out.
