I've read the sticky on maintaining a bromine spa, which has been awesome. We use bromine tablets in a float.

If I maintain between 3 - 8ppm bromine, is there any need to shock the tub? Will the bromine do it's job at those levels or does the bromine need to reach a higher ppm to destroy organic material?

I plan to clean it with some Ahh Some and then purge

The install guys said the grime ring is natural as our bodies detox in the tub the first few weeks.

Does anyone know if Ahh Some contains Methylisothiazolinone or any other Isothiazolinones?

When I drain the hot tub, will the water in internal plumbing come out via gravity or do I need to vacuum/blow them out somehow?

Thank you

There's no need for scheduled shocking, but it's good practice to raise the Br level after a soak. The small size of the tub combined with the heat making people sweat more causes higher sanitizer losses than in a pool and they can easily hit zero with a few people sitting in it for an hour. If it's just a couple people for a short time then bringing it back up to 8 ppm should suffice, but if there's a party then bringing it to 20 ppm afterwards and keeping the cover off for a while to vent is a very good idea.

The rest of the questions are outside my area of expertise, but I'm sure someone will be able to answer them for you.
