Hi. We have a plastic basketball backboard that has cracked after 6 years of teenage boys dunking on it. It's an in ground, 2 leg variety. Trying to get the manufacturer from our pool installer. But the way it's cracked, I feel like maybe we could try and epoxy it first before buying an expensive replacement. I realize this might be a temporary solution, but I'd like to try. Has anyone had success doing this, and if so, what type of epoxy or glue did you use? If it matters, ours is a chlorine pool. Thx!

It depends on the type of plastic.
For example, if it is polyethylene (LDPE, HDPE, and UHMW) or polypropylene, glues/epoxies that will work are expensive. Permabond TA4605, TA4610, TA4611, and TA4631 will all work with PE and PP.
You issue is going to be determining the material, before you figure out the type of glue...or it will really be hit and miss.
