Greetings,

Pool calculator suggests I add 12 oz Borax to improve the ph of a 16K gallon pool (ph below 7.0). I am in the process of moving in to this home, and haven’t been able to locate my dry weight scale. Does anyone know how many dry cups = 12 oz borax? (I have located my measuring cups :) )

Welcome to TFP! 12 ounces should be about 1.5 cups, but that won't raise the pH very much in a 16K pool. According to the PoolMath APP, if your pH was 6.8 and you want to go to 7.2, it would take about 6 lbs (100 oz) of Borax. Or about 50 oz of washing soda.
