I been using borates for a couple years now. It works GREAT at keeping everything in check! I just tested with the Lomatte Borate test strips. I'm getting a reading of 80.... The highest level on the test strip.
Should I be concerned that it's high? I noticed in pool school it says keep between 30-50 ppm.
To anyone who contemplates using borates...... do it. All I had to do this year was add 3 lbs. calcium chloride.
