Borate Drop test?

I put 5 boxes of borax in my pool and the calculator said 10 boxes for a 14,000 gal pool to get a 50ppm reading. So I added half and tested.
I tested my borates today via test strips from TFtestkit.net, and my test was indicating about 60 -80 ppm. I added borax in the past, and always got a descent reading, but I'm questioning these new strips that I received 3 months ago.

My question, does TFtestkit.net sale a different test for borates? Or is there a borate drop test available anywhere? I would like to perform a second test before adding anymore borax.

There is no commercially available drop test for borates. @JoyfulNoise has the “recipe” for a borates drop test.

Any opinions on this? I have a K2006, so I already have everything I need (except the borate kit itself). I like the idea of drops/colour changes vs. a strip, but am open to your opinions. Would I be better off just getting the LaMotte strips? Speaking of strips, I can also get borate test...
