bonding new PVC to old PVC?

I'm doing a repair on a pool built in 1970.

Take a look at these pix, this is what the existing plumbing is. Clearly from the labeling it's a form of Schedule 40 PVC, but the pipes are a light blue in color, the fittings dark gray, and it looks like a gray solvent was used.

Anybody seen this before? Would normal PVC primer & glue work to bond new PVC?

Thanks!

I would stay glue one fitting and check to see how it feels after a day or few hours. I would also see if the old pvc seems more brittle than new stuff. Never seen what you have. My pool had thin green pipe at one time, it's so brittle now it crumbles in your fingers. The elbow might be CPVC.

If you are concerned, replace as much as you can with new.
