I am in the market for a new ABG. I am going back and forth between an ALL resin (Saltwater Aurora) or a resin everything except for the wall (Saltwater 8000).

With a Aurora, you bond nothing on the pool structure, since it is all resin.

On a pool like I have now, you bond the uprights in 4 locations since they are all metal and it is connected with the wall (in theory)

What do you do with something like the Saltwater 8000? I gather you bond it at the seams (or actually two seams, since it has a stainless steel panel in it for the skimmer and return). But how do you get the rest of the bonding points to the wall. I guess I could drill a hole bolt it though behind the foam cove, but that is something I really do not want to do, it would compromise the structure (which is kind of why I am putting in a new pool - the old one is getting compromised by rust)

Go all resin. *both* problems solved. (y)

I literally just told somebody that if I was going through the trouble, it'd be for an all resin pool. It'd be a rare instance I paid credit card interest if I couldn't afford the upcharge at the time. The interest would be considerably less then the replacement pool once this one rusted.

Buy once, cry once.

Hang tight for someone who knows about the bonding. We have a bunch of members with the hybrids so somebody(s) should know.

I can afford it, but I could not justify the extra cost. It was nice, but it was not getting me something I needed. I honestly do not think I will be in this house much more than an other 10 years. (youngest kid is a senior in HS right now).

We have long range plans to move eventually. The current all metal pool that we have now is somewhere in the range of 15-20 years and *could* go a few more seasons if I wanted it to.

The hybrid is now on a truck somewhere in Canada, heading down the Eastern Seaboard.

I bought a steel wall/resin everything else pool and the electrician did not bond the wall. I asked about it and his answer was with the plastic footing, no need, it passed inspection in my township. They left the bonding wire exposed for the inspector to see it so it wasn't hidden from sight. The water, pump, SWG and ring around the pool is bonded. Our last pool just had 1 bond wire going from 1 upright to pump, I was surprised how things have changed!

All resin here, and no regrets. Especially since it was on sale.

By the way, I did bond the one metal seam.
