Bleach Addition

So water is balanced and no issues, but I am trying to lessen the amount of testing. I have been adding 3 oz bleach to get to 5 ppm with 40 cya after use in the evening. In the morning I test and add another 2 oz because I am always at 2-2.5 ppm and that is good and stays at 5 ppm until next soak.

Is there any reason I couldn't just add 5-7 oz after the final soak of the day and have that last until following evening soak. I don't like to soak in high FC, but I don't want to waste Bleach either. Is this a sub optimal strategy?

(edit for presumed spa)
Your water :) (in other words, try it and see) It is safe to soak/swim in up to FC Shock Level for your CYA (hence the emphasis on owner testing) :D

I usually add max "target" level of FC for my CYA/40 in the evening. Never had green water :)

Is your CYA/40 for pool or spa? How do you like it?

It is my first time with CYA/40 and I am not overly impressed. The Water doesn't have that sparkle I am used to (could be other issues, but water is balanced and 1 week old). I also like lower FC when I am in it. I might be overthinking it, but just interested in others experiences

We have sparkle, I will prob need CYA/50 this summer as we finally got our neighbor's overhanging tree (overgrowth) trimmed back. If the storms let up, I'll know by end of May :)
