Bestway - Legs Will Not Plumb

Hello,

After several days of digging, levelling, compacting, etc. we attempted to set up our Bestway/Costco 12x22 oval pool yesterday. The base and pavers were checked numerous times with a water level and found to be within 1/4" of level. Our problem, that stopped us, is that the legs on one end of the pool are out of plumb, severely. It appears that the strap that holds the legs in is too tight, when I pull one leg out to the correct spot, the strap pulls the others in. But it does not effect the perfectly plumb poles on the other end.

At the end of the day, I drove in stakes into the ground, outside of the perimeter of the pool and used cord between the stakes and the legs to pull the legs to plumb and left it over night. The final one took quite a lot of tension to pull it out and the band holding the legs is taught. We have a consistent 1/2" of water in the pool and the top rails are level so I am sure that it is not a levelling issue.

I can't leave the stakes and cords in place all the time. If I continue to fill the pool, do you think that the water pressure will hold the legs in position? Did I get a lemon? I don't want to take it apart and take it back to Costco but I want it to be safe.

Thanks in Advance......Dennis

Many of the rectangle pools get a real big bow when filling. Easily a foot or more and it brings many DIY-ers here and I imagine the ovals do as well. With your water height is as consistent as it is, I would guess it just needs more water to level out the walls.

Hang tight for more thoughts.

Search up Intex bowing, rectangle unlevel while filling and any other variation of the two while you wait to see if they look familiar.

Some pics would help the brain trust do their thing as well.
