Best Options for SWCG (what brand do you recommend)

When we purchased this house a the SWCG board was fried so we have yet to use our pool as a salt water pool. Since then my dogs chewed up the wires to the salt cell so we are finally ready to purchase a whole new system and put a fence around our equipment.

I am also having our lines blown and sand replaced so we ensure everything is good to go.

I am hoping to get something decent but not something necessarily top of the line as we will likely need to move again in a year.

Curious to what you recommend!?!

Based on what I have been able to research seems the Circupool Universal40 may be a good option for us.

Hey Smacc !! I would want to go over 2X in GA. Your UV is just a bit stronger than mine up north.

You can look at moving 2 ways. Either go the cheapest route possible, or get a quality system and use it as a selling point. If the potential buyers are into the pool, they will appreciate it. I had several potential buyers who didn’t care about the pool at all, And they didn’t care about the name brand equipment making it run. It all depends.

Today, I just installed a Circupool CORE55 that I bought over the winter. When I looked it up online for the manual I noticed that the price is up over 50%! I'm sure it has something to do with the great Texas freeze.

I believe the plumbing is already there I just need a new board and salt cell?

What makes you say that? what is the board doing. most of the time it just needs a new Thermistor, a 25 cent part.

the board hasn’t worked since we moved in, I had a company come out and they said it was fried. At that time we only needed a new board but dogs chewed up the cell wires so now we need both!

I don’t know enough about them but we have never been able to get power to it. It apparently was fried? Haven’t seen it work since we moved I. Two years ago.

Should I book a company to install the new board and cell or do you honestly think I could do it myself. I can change a light fixture but wouldn’t call myself handy!

I installed a Circupool CORE55 in like 15-20 minutes.

If you can trace a template with a sharpie, cut pipe with a hack saw, and apply glue w/ an applicator, you should be able to do it.

Just because the wires are chewed up, does not mean it does not work. I would try to rewire the cell and the flow/temp sensor and try it. Then look at the board, take pictures and we can help you. Its not that hard.

I would see if you can resurrect the Aquarite first before you install something else.. that is a good SWG. there are a ton of them out there so parts are easy to come by. heck even if the board is toast, it would be easy to by an all new unit and play musical parts since the box is already installed. just sayin'

I honestly think you can install the new board and cell yourself.
