I'm curious if anyone has any information on Ben Powell and the status of PoolSolutions. I realize this thread started 6 years ago, but thought that starting a new thread wouldn't add any value. This thread is titled exactly how I would a new thread.
I joined PoolSolutions.com around the time we built our pool in 1999. I used that site extensively to edumacate myself on pool operation and successfully operated my pool for 25 years. Even after Ben's disengagement, dedicated forum administrators kept the site active for many years. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the TFP principals and experts migrated here from PoolSolutions.
Though I am still listed as a "Lifetime Member" on PoolSolutions, my forum permissions have recently degraded to the point that I can no longer access my profile, search or post - let alone create a new thread. Back in Feb 2021, Ben posted in a thread titled: "New forum on the way . . . Lord willin' and the creek don't rise!", that he was trying to revitalize the site. Alas, nothing seems to have developed.
I understand that Ben apparently done some folks wrong by not shipping paid-for test kits. I am sympathetic to that, but am also appreciative of the service that his website provided - as I am with TFP.
I have reached out to Ben via the email that he provided in his post. Meanwhile, I am thoroughly enjoying the activity on this site. I am learning about new pool equipment and operation, indicating that my edumacation also needs an update.
