I’m relatively new here and in the process of a new build. I’ve learned a lot from the collective wisdom of this board.

Need to backfill the PVC trenches around the perimeter of my gunite pool. From what I’ve read here and other sources, the clay dirt should not go back in the hole.

Should I consider sand around the pipes and fill with crusher run or 57 stone (approx 2-3 ft deep)? I’ve read one is better for stability and the other for drainage.

The decking material is a travertine paver.

Thanks in advance

I read similar when researching last year. I put down filter fabric first, then 3” sand bed, ran a string line to maintain 1% slope, installed/glued pipe, covered pipe w/ 3” sand, filter fabric to keep gravel out or sand, 18” of clean crush and run, filter fabric, then top soil.
