Did you solve your issue? I'm getting the same thing error and have a manual bypass valve before the heater. When it's fully closed the heater throws high flow errors. When I open the bypass valve a bit the heater makes a howling noise. What does your flow est through the hx show? Mine shows anywhere from 12gpm to 15gpm which seems wrong.
I've got an 18x36 inground pool with 1.5 HP flopro jandy pump on 1.5" plumbing. Setup is pump filter heater chlorinator then return.
