Automatic pool cover misaligned

While closing my pool cover, one side got misaligned because the nail was up and it got stuck.

After this, I can open the cover without issues but I am unable to close it without issues.
Wondering if someone faced this and have any resolution for this.

I don't understand "the nail was up".

In any case, here in the SF Bay Area, we call Pool Covers Inc. They are good at what they do, and pool covers is what they do.
