Hayward SwimPure Extreme SWG cell replaced October 2020. Recently was reading very low salt numbers on the diagnostic panel. We added salt…and added salt. Decided to test salt with my Taylor kit…6000. Pool store tested also..5400. Replacing some water in the pool now. What would cause such a discrepancy in the salt numbers? Bad cell? I plan to make anther trip to pool store for them to test cell.

Have you done the diagnostics yet?
If not, do them amd report the results here.

Based on those results, we can guide you in the next steps.

You can take the Hayward cell to the pool store and have it tested.
If bad, you don't have to actually buy the new cell from them.

I ran the diagnostic on the panel:
Salt. 3200
Pool Temp. 88
Cell Current. 30.9
Desired Output. 47%
Instant Salinity. -1800
Product Name. AL-2
Software. r1.59
Chlorinator Cell Type. t-9

TAYLOR TEST KIT READINGS:
Chlorine. 1
Free Chlorine. .5
PH. 7.8
Alk. 100
CYA. 100
Calcium Hard. 600
Salt. 6000

In looking up my salt cell purchase it appears to still be covered under a 4 year warranty.
Also, to note, the pool was resurfaced in February and my test results have been off since then.
