Autocover question. Should I blow debris off?

New pool owner and am visualizing this auto cover rolling up on itself. Seems to me as you open the cover the top dirty part will touch the clean under part as it rolls up??? I this would put debris in pool when I open the cover. No or yes? It’s a wooded lot with all kinds of pollen and debris falling off trees right now. Should I get the blower out every time I open it and blow it off first??

Loose stuff tends to fall of the roll like a conveyor belt ending - but some things that stick to the cover do end up in the pool. We have a huge cypress tree behind our lot and it drops tons of tiny beads that blow around, float, and stick to the cover...This is in addition to the larger needles/droppings, branches, and seed pods it rains down on our pool area. Luckily with the cover closed it prevents most of it from ever getting in the water.

If the cover gets a bit dirty, I sometimes open it just to "rinse" it off a little...Everything but the last 3 feet or so get clean...I figure the robot and filter can clean whatever I get in the water that way.
