Astralpool VX7s Low Salt Warning Intermittently

The cell is clean and flow is good but the low salt warning comes on frequently with no apparent relation to the actual salt in the pool. If I turn off either the SWG or the pump (along with it) and then restart it after 5 minutes or so, that sometimes gets it running properly and it produces what looks like the right level of Chlorine without a problem (I run it at #6 for 4 + 4 hours a day). I am managing to keep the pool water balance in decent shape but constantly having to check the pump room is a real pain in the neck.

Is there a detector for the salt level that can be fixed or replaced, and if so is it in the cell or the box on the wall?

When a SWG says low salt you have to use a separate water test to determine if you just need to add salt to the water or if the cell has a problem.

We use K-1766 Taylor Salt Test or Salt Test Strips - Aqua Chek

We don’t have the AstralPool products in the USA. Our Australian members have the best knowledge and most if them are gone fir their winter. Let’s see who is around.

What is the tested salt level? What is the water temperature?

Thanks for your reply. I haven't got a recent test level for the salt but when this problem first emerged I added 50kg and it didn't seem to make a difference. My taste buds (and several years experience with the pool) tell me that there is very likely enough salt and that the warning is false. My children seem to have hidden the pool thermometer so I'll get a new one tomorrow, but we live in a tropical monsoon climate with air temp of around 75 to 105°F so at the moment the water is pretty warm.
