My SWG check cell light came on yesterday. I keep my water well balanced, so that every time I check it, it’s spotless. Checked it, sure enough, clean as can be. Today the unit comes on and after about two minutes, shuts down with the “check cell” and “check salt” lights lit. The instant salt reading was showing -3500 but the average one 1900 when it shut down. So I turned it off and back on set on “super chlorinate” while watching the readings. The instant salt came down and stabilized at -3500 for a bit then seemed to suddenly drop to the -1900 reading which shut down the unit and set off the warning lights. We did have a major thunderstorm drop a few inches of water, but I doubt it would dilute my salt level by that much.

So any AquaRite experts with suggestions as to what is going on?

Found the problem. I thought it had to have something to do with my disconnecting and cleaning it yesterday. When I just wiggled the connector a bit and the problem went away. Apparently it was just a poor connection where the cell plugs into the box. Cleaned the pins and plugged it back in, problem solved. New one on me, but the trouble shooting guide does say a disconnected cell will show those two trouble lights, (which was the hint I needed).
