Hi all:

I tried to switch my SWG on today. I've had a green light for power the last few weeks. When I switched it to auto this morning, the generating area had a green light - for about 5 seconds. Then both lights went dark and I can't get anything to come on again.

I checked the fuse box in the house. Nothing off there. What should I check next?

I'm going to reply with an edit. I have power to the display LCD. No power to LED lights. A big clue: my voltage readout is 16. Called Goldline and they confirmed that means something is wrong on the board. I took the front off to do a visual inspection. Nothing looks horrible charred or burned. The current limiter (the little black disk) might have a hairline fracture, but I can't tell for sure (and I'm afraid to touch it, since I'm not an electrician). We haven't replaced anything on the control panel since we bought the house six years ago, so I'm not sure how old the circuit board is.

Questions:
1. Can anyone give me (a non-electrician) specific instructions for replacing the current limiter? I don't have soldering equipment, which is mentioned on other forum threads. Is that necessary?
2. How long, generally, should the Aqua Rite circuit boards last? And if we need to replace the whole thing, how much should we expect to pay? (We've already put in a new pump and a new vacuum booster pump this spring. Oy.)

I suggest searching Youtube and check out some videos on how to replace the limiter. Soldering equipment will be required to replace the limiter. Search the net for how much a new board will cost and you should be able to replace it by yourself if you watch some Youtube videos.

If those don't help let us know.

Current limiter. I ordered mine at amazon, a few bucks more but digikey.com is back ordered on them. Here is the item: Ametherm SL32 2R025 (Pack of 2) Aqua-Rite Thermistor, ICL 2 OHM 20% 25A 30MM. The digikey part reference is 570-1062-ND. One poster says current limiter 570-1019-ND also works but I preferred to stay in the same specs
