Hi all:

I have an Aquapure 1400 cell. I am getting general fault 121 which means clean or replace cell. I seem to experience this when I open and when I close -- typically when water temp is colder. Right now it is 54 degrees and in October when I close, it gets down to the mid-60s. Seems to resolve when temps get to "normal" levels. ANyone else experience this? I am always tempted to buy a new one, but I feel like I go through this all the time and the cell ends up being ok. It is definitely NOT dirty or calcified. Thanks

121 is low current in reverse. I got this when my cell went bad after 5 seasons. The cell looked great but I found the below when I took it apart after replacement. The electrode had corroded entirely away. How old is your cell? They last 5-7 seasons.

If your plates are clean you do not need to acid wash it. That will just degrade the plates. The image I posted shows corrosion, not calcium buildup. You could clean the corrosion but that doesn't fix corrosion damage or reconnect the pieces if they are totally separated. Buy a new cell!

I see ranges from 900 to 1500. DO you recommend a 3rd party vendor. I want to get the same one

I recommend only a Jandy/Zodiac cell. I buy from the below they have pretty good prices.

FYI: My original cell went out at exactly 4 years and 51 months from installation. I called Jandy and it was a 5 year warranty so they sent me a free cell. If you are right at the limit try to get a free one under warranty.

Thank you. It's definitely over 5 years, so warranty is out. I found one. Exact replacement. Only getting cell as I just replaced the flow sensor last year. $650 with the cord from pool supply unlimited. Thanks for your help.
