My 20 year old Aqualink is beginning to fail. This week the switch to the heater failed and we had to bypass. Then yesterday the jandy valve for the spa drain would not activate so I removed the actuator and am operating the valve manually. What are some alternatives which do not cost the $1000.00 for a new control center board? Do I really need the automation?

You can operate all aspects manually. Your VS pump can be scheduled for different rates, etc. Move valves manually, with the pump off. Turn heater on and off from its control pad. The SWCG would need a timer to be sure it is not powered on when the pump is not running.
