We bought a new home and it has a pool. Moved in around 2 months ago and being in Texas means.. we didn't need to heat the pool when we moved in! The current owners had the chiller running and after about a week or so we didn't feel we needed it so we turned the heating/chilling system off. Well now we're in a cool front and wanted to heat the temp about 8 degrees. Turned on the heater and it'll run for like 12 hours and only heat the pool 4 degrees. And frankly I think that's just the sun! Because once the sun goes down.. temp does not increase with the heater running. I've checked that the desired setting is above the current temp. The air coming from the fan FEELS cooler, but when I actually put a temp probe.. it was a difference of about 1 degree from ambient temp. Any ideas here? Thanks!

When the heater is running, what does the return water coming back into the pool feel like? Is it noticeably warmer than the pool water?

How many gallons is your pool? When I run my Aquacal, I get about 1 degree rise in temperature per hour.
