Recently had a stamped concrete patio put in, and between that and demolition of the old patio theres still a lot of smaller rocks and concrete dust and dirt on the bottom of my pool. I don't have a bypass on my cartridge filter to allow me to bypass it and vacuum to waste, and don't want to filter all the crud through there if I vacuumed. I could remove the cartridges and vacuum to waste on the other side of the cartridge filter. But concerned that fine dust/dirt/concrete will be passing through my pump.
So idea is to make a standalone filter station that I can vacuum with. Details;
Has anyone done this?

- It would use a cheap pump probably off Amazon
- It would sit poolside
- It would have a PVC intake into the water
- The outflow would go into a rubbermaid type container with filter material (pillow filling?)
- The container would have a pvc pipe going back into the pool
